What is it?
Flash Anzan is a Japanese mental math drill: numbers flash quickly one after another, and the child adds them mentally, then types the total. Each training has 5 rounds, and progress climbs the eagle ranks.
How it works
- Start at Beginner or choose digits, count and speed yourself.
- Watch the screen and add each number in your head.
- Type the total on the number pad.
- If needed, use the hint button to watch the numbers again.
Benefits for kids
- It trains focus, because each number appears only once.
- It builds short-term memory and adding speed.
- One short session a day is enough, and the ranks keep children motivated.
Common questions
A Japanese mental-arithmetic drill: numbers flash one after another and the child adds them by picturing soroban beads.
From age 6 at the Beginner level (one digit, slow speed). Older kids move on to two digits and subtraction.
Each setting has a difficulty score. Getting at least 4 of 5 rounds right at a harder level earns the next rank, up to Golden Eagle. Ranks are saved on this device only.
